Last week the Bond Collective Design Team ventured out to the annual Architectural Digest show at Pier 92 in Manhattan. Over 40,000 designers and artists flocked to see over 400 exhibitors at the eponymous design show which is now in it’s 16th year. Keep reading to get an inside view with a selection of their favorite exhibitors…
ARA LEVON THORNES
Detroit based Throrose definitely turned heads this year. His designs, with their tubular aesthetic, are pure sculptural spectacle and beg us to interact. I could totally see something like replacing the ergonomic balance-ball office chair!

AVO STUDIO INC.
Avo Studios makes etched hide rugs that are unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Brit Kleinman’s hand-designed patterns come to life in saturated hues that are as functional as they are beautiful.

BOWER
Bower NYC is making a kind of luxury design that we haven’t seen before. It is somehow minimalist and maximalist at the same time. We especially love their optical illusion inspired mirrors. We truly admire they’re ability to take an unexpected palate/materials and transform them into something astonishing.

DEBRA FOLZ DESIGN
We have such a design crush on Debra Folz. Not only is her work super clever and beautiful in it’s simplicity, she herself is also lovely. We were lucky to chat with her briefly about her Gem and Drape tables, which now come in brass!

ESTUDIO PERSONA
Estudio Persona is based in Los Angeles and works primarily with light wood, chrome and leather. Their paired down aesthetic is more than trend as every piece exudes quality and refinement. We literally could not remove ourselves from their ergonomic Nido Chair!

JOHN SHEPPARD
John Shepard is making uber-refined stoneware in Chelsea and we want all of it. His work ranges from soft, geometric vases to shapely organic art objects. All of them aspirational mantel pieces.

KIM MARKEL
Kim Markel’s Glow chair is molded from reclaimed plastic. We loved how playfully artful yet sculptural these translucent chairs are. They look like candy colored icicles!

LUKE LAMP CO
Translucent nylon rope illuminated from within make these striking lighting installations by Luke Lamp Co. We loved their usage of utilitarian materials to make something so luxe!

New Growth Designs always has an enchanting booth and this year was no exception. A giant archway of artificial privet and checkered astroturf welcomed us to their garden. The best artificial foliage we know of with southern hospitality to boot!

TRUE RESIDENTIAL
I never thought I cared about refrigerators until now…These ice boxes are somehow vintage and modern at the same time. The brass and copper finishes add something special to their timeless design.

SARKOS
Elide gasped when she played eyes on Sarkos’ large scale display of dreamy wallpaper. Made by hand, each roll is truly a work of art.

The Principals is an experimental design group that creates everything from these geometric planters to interactive installations for MoMA PS1. Their designs are filled with wonder and range in scale from individual pieces of furniture to entire experiences.
