23 Questions with Bond Collective is a series highlighting the impressive 1,000+ person community spread across the Bond Collective portfolio. The series will feature members from 60 Broad, 55 Broadway, Gowanus and Flatiron locations and Bond Collective employees as well. 23 questions will explore all different walks of life and show just how unique and vast the Bond Collective network continues to become.
Lara Fischer-Zernin is the Director of Marketing and Branding at Bond Collective. She is a creative and detail oriented individual who is passionate about creating and executing operational strategies from the ground up. She has played an integral role in the creation and development of numerous ventures, including the launch of the first ad-tech team at Mozilla. It is her zeal towards building process in a collaborative, rapid growth environment that led her to Bond Collective. Lara oversaw the recent rebrand from Coworkrs to Bond Collective giving a new, sophisticated edge to the Bond brand. In her free time, Lara enjoys time with her puppy Lola, yoga, and travel. Lara is outgoing, chic, and a little quirky, making her a dynamic leader who exudes passion for Bond and life in general. We asked Lara a few questions…
1 – First thing you do in the morning?
I hit the snooze button and let my dog Lola under the covers, so I can get five more minutes of sleep.
2 – Top 3 songs to listen to when you need to get work done?
1 – Armin Van Buuren State of Trance number 238 – that is my get shit done mix.
2 – Anything on the Babel New York soundcloud page
3 – The sound of silence that my headphones create when I am not listening to anything. Just like Yuni!
3 – Favorite coffee shop and go to order?
My go to order is a triple almond latte, the shop depends on the Bond location I am at! I also have my Nespresso maker at home, which I can’t live without.
4 – Gmail or Outlook?
Gmail, but with the horizontal preview pan setup so it looks like Outlook. I guess that’s cheating, huh?
5 – App you can’t live without?
The Podcast app… I have a dog and would not be able to survive long walks without it!
6 – First job?
My first real job was as a waitress at a seafood restaurant in the town I grew up in.
7 – Favorite lunch spot?
My days are so crazy, that I often don’t have time to grab lunch, so I started just bringing my lunch to work. I’ve been eating a lot of avocado toast lately.
8 – Early or late?
On the spectrum, I am all over the board! I like to wake up late, but usually arrive early.
9 – How do you unwind after a long day of work?
Walking my dog is so relaxing. It’s a form of meditation for me. But if that doesn’t work, a glass of wine usually does the trick!
10 – What is your lucky charm?
I don’t really think I have one, to be honest. Is that bad!?
11 – What inspires you?
Life, music and the people around me.
12 – Social Media Account everyone should be following?
My dogs Instagram, @lola.fzp, of course! Lola is a natural. If anyone is looking for a model, she’s your girl! I promise I’m not a stage mom.
13 – Best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
“Tomorrow is a new day.”
14 – How long did it take you to get to work this morning?
About 45 minutes!
15 – When’s the last time you celebrated a win?
Personal: I managed to get through a whole Physique 57 class without stopping. It was a beginners class, but still!
Career: Another exciting win that happened recently was that one of the pictures on the Bond Collective posted on Instagram showed up as one of the “Top Photos” in several categories on insta. Our social team has been putting so much work and effort into our social media and it was awesome to see the hard work pay off!!!!
16 – If you could squeeze one more activity into your daily life, what would it be?
To take a class and learn how to use Illustrator. I’ve also been dying to learn how to code!
17 – If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Black. I hate color. My closet is literally filled with only black, grey, and white clothes.
18 – What is the most interesting thing about you?
I went backpacking for three weeks in Patagonia (the Chilean side) for my honeymoon and absolutely fell in love with it. I want to retire there.
19 – Last show you binge watched?
The Wire – SO good. I finally understand why everyone says “ahhhh, shit.”
20 – Biggest Cheerleader?
Drew Puig
21 – Call or text?
Text, text, text! If people call me, I send them to voicemail and text them back.
22 – Favorite book?
I read a lot but I can only ever remember the last couple of books I read. That being said, my favorite books I can remember reading would be Fortune’s Rock and The Nightingale.
23 – Name 5 people (dead or alive) you would invite to a dinner party.
1 – My best friend Isaac who passed away.
2 – Jeremy from Topgear. He makes me laugh so hard.
3 – Jason Segle – my celebrity crush.
4 – William from This is Us. Not the actual actor, but the character he plays.
5 – My mom. She lives abroad so I don’t get to spend as much time with her as I wish I could.
